Op-Ed Writer Got It Wrong on Three Mile Island Shutdown

Mr. Shughart’s stance is a drastic mischaracterization of Three Mile Island and the nuclear industry in general (“Will TMI closure end in a meltdown for Pa’s electricity consumers?” July 19). Pennsylvania’s nuclear fleet generates 37 percent of the state’s energy. Keeping it operational is critical to having a diverse fuel mix, which in turn keeps prices low. Not to mention these plants support more than 15,000 jobs in the state…
